A storytelling feast to be held at The Heritage Ranch

Step into an evening where food tells a story. Join renowned Chef Doug Settle and Hearth and Harvest for The Farmer’s Table—a one-of-a-kind farm-to-table experience that fuses community, cuisine, and local heritage into an unforgettable evening.

The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at The Heritage Ranch, home of the San Dieguito Heritage Museum in Encinitas.

The Farmer’s Table invites guests on a culinary journey through San Dieguito’s rich agricultural and cultural history. With hyper-local ingredients and live fire cooking, each dish will tell the story of the people and practices that have sustained this land for generations—from early settlers and ranchers to present-day growers and artisans, according to a news release.

This intimate, open-air dinner is not just a meal—it’s a celebration of resilience, stewardship, and storytelling through food.

Guests will begin the evening with a private tour of the San Dieguito Heritage Museum, including an exclusive interactive experience with a first look at the museum’s new digital self-guided walking tour, offering an innovative way to explore local history.

The event includes:

•A thoughtfully curated multi-course meal prepared onsite with seasonal ingredients•Wine pairings that complement the flavors and enhance the experience•Live-fire culinary techniques that evoke traditional methods of gathering and nourishment

Tickets: $125 per person, which Includes full meal, wine pairings, museum access, and a contribution to the San Dieguito Heritage Museum, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit preserving the vibrant stories of this region. Space is extremely limited so it is recommended to reserve a seat now.
