April and the Funk Junkies bring the groove — and the giving — to Belly Up

by News Release

Get ready to dance off your Thanksgiving dinner and kick off the holiday season with a night of funk, fun, and giving back. Local favorite April and the Funk Junkies return to the Belly Up Tavern for a special Happy Hour fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

This year’s show doubles as lead singer April Mosebrook’s birthday bash — and she’s celebrating by giving back. Tickets are just $8, with $2 from every ticket benefiting the Miracle League of San Diego (MLSD), an inspiring organization that provides special-needs children and adults the opportunity to play baseball in an organized league.

Miracle League is very special to April and her partner, Dr. Stuart Kipper (Kip); they have been volunteers at the weekly games for over 15 years, according to a news release.

Known for their high-energy performances and irresistible grooves, April and the Funk Junkies have become a San Diego favorite, filling dance floors with their mix of funk, soul, pop, and rock classics. With this hometown show, the band promises an unforgettable evening packed with great music, laughter, and love — all while supporting a truly meaningful cause, the news release stated.

Tickets are available now through the Belly Up Tavern website at www.bellyup.com. Come early, grab a drink, and get ready to move — because when the Funk Junkies take the stage, sitting still isn’t an option.
