Are you ready for some football? The 2025 high school season is here

It’s time once again to strap on the pads, put on the helmets and hit the gridiron as the 2025 high school football season begins Friday, Aug. 22, for all three of La Jolla’s teams.

The La Jolla High School Vikings ended last season with a 7-5 record after losing in the quarterfinals of the CIF San Diego Section Division II playoffs in November.

The Vikings play in the Eastern League, which also includes Christian, Madison, Point Loma, San Diego and St. Augustine.

The Bishop’s School Knights finished 7-4 last year, ending the season with a loss in the Division II quarterfinals.

The Knights are in the Coastal League, which also includes Army-Navy Academy, La Jolla Country Day School, Classical Academy and Santa Fe Christian.

The La Jolla Country Day Torreys were 5-6 in 2024 after dropping a Division III first-round playoff game.

The Torreys compete in the Coastal League.

Games that local teams may be marking on their calendars this season are in-town match-ups between La Jolla High and La Jolla Country Day on Friday, Sept. 5, and between Bishop’s and Country Day on Friday, Sept. 26.

Here are the schedules for La Jolla’s three teams. All games are on Fridays unless otherwise stated.

La Jolla High
