Art all around: La Jolla Art & Wine Festival draws crowds
More than 160 artists and thousands of spectators came to The Village for the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival on Oct. 11-12 along Girard Avenue.
In addition to the artists, the annual event included a children’s area, a wine and beer garden, animal adoptions, performances, games and activities and more.
Proceeds from booth rentals and the wine and beer garden go to programs such as music, science, physical education, technology, onsite medical care and art at all five La Jolla public schools in the San Diego Unified School District.
Having given more than $1.2 million to local schools over 16 years, festival organizers say it is part of a mission to “keep arts education alive in San Diego’s public schools.”
