Bicyclist killed in crash with trolley in Chula Vista
A bicyclist was killed Monday after a collision with a trolley at a Chula Vista crossing, a Metropolitan Transit Authority spokesperson said.
The incident happened about noon at the Moss Street crossing, spokesperson Hector Zermeno said. The bicyclist died at the scene. His name has not been released.
“The accident is actively being investigated, and further details are not available currently,” Zermeno said.
Trolley service on the UC San Diego Blue Line was initially interrupted but resumed normal operations by late afternoon. However, Zermeno said, passengers “experienced some delays as the system recovered.” On X, the agency estimated the delays at roughly 15 to 20 minutes.
