Bicyclist struck by trolley in downtown San Diego gravely injured
A bicyclist was gravely injured Friday when he collided with a trolley on a downtown street.
The 54-year-old man was riding on West C Street near 1st Street when he crossed into the path of the light-rail tram and was struck shortly before 9:30 a.m., San Diego police Officer David O’Brien said.
Paramedics took the victim to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest for treatment of severe head injuries.
He was not expected to survive, O’Brien said.
