Bird Rock food-packing volunteers assemble 30,000 meals
Over 200 volunteers descended upon Bird Rock Elementary School during the Bird Rock Gives Back event on Dec. 6, ultimately assembling and packing 30,000 meals that will be donated to the San Diego Food Bank.
Organizer John McGuinness said based on the success of the event and “overwhelming community support,” the plan is to host the event next year as well.
