Bring on ‘2022 Restoration Act’ to make leaders listen to residents

by U T Readers

Re “Let’s force change at City Hall” (Oct. 12): This is what a paper should do! Please sign me up for the “2022 Restoration Act.” I can volunteer to get signatures for this.

Our mayor and council are wasting money on this trash fiasco and need to be impeached. They are wasting money replacing bins when a sticker could just be slapped on ones still in good shape. Somebody at City Hall thought this trick would fool us into accepting higher trash costs than we voted for in 2022.

San Diego used to have a city manager. But then we voted to adopt a “strong mayor” policy. This does not work when we have incompetent politicians loyal to unions and buddies, and not to taxpayers.

A city manager will help fix the issues listed in the editorial as well as 101 Ash Street and other disasters.
