Chocolate pop-up returns to San Marcos pastry shop this weekend
French pastry chef Christophe Rull is bringing back artisan chocolatier Annaluna Karkar for another two-day chocolates pop-up at his San Marcos shop because the first pop-up in October quickly sold out.
The second pop-up, this time featuring some holiday-themed chocolates, will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Christophe Rull Patisserie at 251 N. City Drive, San Marcos. In addition to Karkar’s chocolates, Rull will be offering some of his signature pastries during the weekend event.
After training in Italy and working alongside Michelin-starred chefs, Karkar founded Annaluna Chocolate, known for its balance of flavor, texture and visual beauty. Her Mediterranean roots and love for natural forms inspire her distinctive aesthetic and flavor combinations.
This weekend’s sale will feature handmade bon bons, chocolate bars and tablets and holiday items including nutcrackers, a stag plaque, a gingerbread house and tree plaque and chocolate Christmas tree candies.

Rull is best known for his starring role in the Netflix baking competition series “Bake Squad” and for his triumphs in chocolate-making and shaping.
He won the title of U.S. Chocolate Master in 2021 and came in fifth place in the 2022 World Chocolate Master competition in Paris. Karkar is a friend and colleague who was part of Rull’s prep team at the 2022 World Chocolate Masters competition.
