City ending free parking at Balboa Park called ‘almost criminal’
Re “San Diego approves parking fees for Balboa Park, but delays start date several months” (Sept. 15): It is a sad day in our history as a city when we begin charging people to park in our beloved treasure, Balboa Park. As a retired elementary school teacher, I know personally there are many families who cannot afford to pay to enjoy this beautiful place in our city. I find it deplorable and almost criminal to charge our citizens for this pleasure. Anyone and everyone should be free to experience this amazing place free of charge.
