The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man in his mid-20s in connection with a sexual battery incident in Rancho San Diego on July 30.

Described as a White male, approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds with “short, shaggy medium brown hair,” the suspect was wearing a dark-colored shirt and black flip-flop sandals when the attack occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the man grabbed a 24-year-old woman from behind while she was jogging on Hilton Head Road near Emerald Point Lane, putting his left arm “around the female’s neck and chest to restrain her.”

“The suspect proceeded to sexually batter the female,” the department’s statement said. “The female screamed and was able to run away from the suspect.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the department’s Sexual Assault Unit at 858-285-6112 or after hours at 858-868-3200.
