Emilio Nares Foundation to host 22nd Annual Harvest for Hope fundraiser supporting children fighting cancer
The Emilio Nares Foundation (ENF), a nonprofit that helps families navigate their children’s cancer journey and other life-threatening diseases, recently announced the return of its annual fundraiser Harvest for Hope on Thursday, Sept. 4 at Julep Venue in San Diego from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with presenting sponsor the San Diego Hyundai Dealers.
With over 20 culinary and wine partners, guests will experience a tasting tour featuring top chefs and vintners from San Diego and across the border. Enjoy exceptional drink options from Friuli Italian Wines, DAOU, Niner St. Barbara Winery, Park & Rec, Aperture Estate, ENODAV and Vuelo Tequila, perfectly paired with inspired bites from Oliver & Rose Catering Co, Hash House and Monello.
Two Michelin-star restaurants will be represented at this year’s event: Chef Drew Deckman of 31Thirty One and Chef David Sim of the Michelin Guide-recognized Kingfisher. They’ll be joined by locally celebrated Chef Ethan Yang of Glassbox Del Mar—along with many local favorites including Wolf in the Woods, Solare, and more. Together, they’re coming together to make a lasting impact—one plate, one glass, and one family at a time, according to a news release.
Harvest for Hope brings together 300 supporters, families and community leaders to celebrate courage, healing and the power of giving. This special evening, which includes inspiring stories, is thoughtfully crafted to honor the journeys of the families served by ENF.
“We’re honored to host another Harvest for Hope fundraiser; a celebration of community, compassion, and the incredible strength of the families we serve. Every year, this event reminds us of the power we have when we come together to support children battling cancer,” said Elsa Morales-Roth, executive director of the Emilio Nares Foundation, in the news release. “This fundraising event is a testament to the incredible support of our community. Together, we’re building a future where every family facing childhood cancer knows they’re not alone — and have a village behind them.”
Since 2003, ENF has provided support to families navigating childhood cancer through comprehensive care initiatives in Southern California. Key programs offered includes a family resource center, a bilingual support group for families navigating the healthcare system, and access to vital resources such as food, housing, legal aid, and mental health services. ENF aims to ensure that children receive the necessary care through providing reliable and sanitary transportation for immunocompromised children going to and from medical appointments through Ride with Emilio, the news release stated.
Altogether, ENF has served 15,839 individuals through family support, delivered 23,103 snack bags and logged 1.6 million miles with Ride with Emilio and their fleet of Hyundai vehicles, ensuring safe and consistent transportation to live-saving treatments. Fundraisers like Harvest for Hope allow the foundation to continue to support local families and expand their efforts.
The Emilio Nares Foundation invites all members of the community to join them in celebrating this healing on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. For ticket information and event details, go to ENFHope.org
