Foodie Forecast: Joe Musgrove’s burger, churro pancakes, dinner and a movie

Here is some of the latest in dining news from across San Diego County, as well as some upcoming events for foodies.

Savory breakfast options: Table 509 Bar & Kitchen is expanding its breakfast menu with new sweet and savory choices. Some of the breakfast-fusion items include $22 churro pancakes, $20 chicken and waffles with salsa matcha and maple syrup, a $22 croissant french toast with Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and a $28 breakfast poke bowl with tuna, a soft-poached egg, an avocado puree spicy sauce, pickled onions and wonton chips. Musgrove burger: San Diego Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove and Sycuan Casino Resort are teaming up to offer fans a new dining option. The 44 Smash Burger features three beef patties, bacon jam, Muenster cheese, fried pickle, lettuce, tomato and habanero aioli on a toasted bun. The burger also comes with a choice of fries, coleslaw, side salad or macaroni and cheese. The burger is the creation of Musgrove and Sycuan Casino Resort and senior executive chef Thierry Bregeon, and it is available for a limited time at the resort’s Rank & File restaurant. Anniversary menu: Civico 1845 in Little Italy is celebrating its 10th anniversary with five new menu items, available through the end of October. The limited-time food items include calamarata pasta with yellowfin tuna, ravioli stuffed with short ribs, pork belly adobada and pineapple tacos, a zucchini tempura blossom with caciocavallo cheese marinated in Calabrian chili peppers and a cream puff pastry with vanilla cream and spicy Calabrian chocolate. Each dish was a collaboration between Civico’s chef Pietro Gallo and another San Diego chef, such as Claudia Sandoval and Travis Swikard. 1845 India St., San Diego. 619-31-5990, civico1845.com 

Movies and Mexican food: Moviegoers to AMC Theatres in Fashion Valley can save money at Blancos Tacos + Tequila. Now through Oct. 1, guests who show their same-day ticket stub from AMC theaters can get 20% off their meal, excluding alcohol. The Mexican-inspired restaurant chain offers tacos, burritos, enchilada plates, fajitas and a green chile smash burger. Brunch and dinner dishes: Guests at the Town and County Resort have new food options to select from as Arlo is updating its brunch and dinner menus. Brunch options now include a Japanese-inspired milk bread cinnamon roll and a five-piece chicken and waffle plate. Among new dinner possibilities are chipotle-rubbed pork chops with mashed purple potato and asparagus, a nectarine salad with goat cheese, candied walnuts and a honey orange vinaigrette and a macaroni and cheese side dish with a garlic confit and bread crumbs. 500 Hotel Circle North, San Diego. 619-908-5058, arlosandiego.com

Savannah Banana specials: To celebrate the Savannah Bananas baseball team’s San Diego debut at Petco Park, Havana 1920 and El Chingon are creating new cocktails. Havana 1920 will be serving a daiquiri made with rum, lime and banana, priced at $15. El Chingon is creating a $14 banana margarita mixed with tequila, lime, banana, orange and agave.
