Here’s a thought: Let zoo executives replace mayor, City Council
Re “San Diego Zoo assets at $1B and rising” (Nov. 23): We must commend the San Diego Zoo’s responsible fiscal management that has enabled the zoo to have $1 billion in assets. I propose that our mayor and City Council be replaced by the management and the board of directors of the zoo. For decades, the zoo has lived within its means while maintaining its reputation as a world-class facility. It has never charged for parking, but our City Council wants to change that.
The zoo is an effectively run organization. Our city is not.
