La Jolla crime and public safety news: Sex assaults, blotter for Nov. 28 to Dec. 21

Sexual assaults reported on two consecutive days

San Diego police say two unrelated sexual assaults took place on consecutive days in La Jolla in December, though they say there is no threat to the general public.

One assault was reported at 7:40 p.m. Dec. 18 near the 800 block of Coast Boulevard. Lt. Nydia Castro with the Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit said the investigation is continuing.

At about 5:15 p.m. the next day, another assault was reported near the 9600 block of La Jolla Farms Road. Castro said a suspect was in custody.

No further details were immediately available in the cases. They are believed to be unrelated to other sex-related crimes reported at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 17 on Nobel Drive at Villa La Jolla Drive and 5 p.m. Dec. 19 on Cuvier Street at Prospect Street.
