La Plaza La Jolla, a commercial center on Girard Avenue in the heart of The Village, has been sold for $10.2 million.

CBRE’s Michael Peterson, Reg Kobzi and Jimmy Slusher, who represented the seller, La Plaza Investment, made the announcement Nov. 5.

The name of the buyer, described as a “private family office,” was not disclosed, though CBRE said the new owner intends to keep it as a retail center.

The 28,866-square-foot property at 7863-7877 Girard Ave., at the corner of Wall Street, has a location, tenant mix and long-term stability that “made it a highly attractive opportunity,” Peterson said in a statement. “We’re proud to have represented La Plaza Investment in successfully leasing the asset to 100% and selling the asset to a buyer who understands its long-term value.”

La Plaza La Jolla, built in 1986, underwent renovation in 2015. CBRE said it is fully leased to a mix of restaurants and other businesses, including Catania, Elixir, Thread + Seed, Compass, One 10 Salon and The SmartFit Method. ♦
