Love Your Library: Annual Holiday Tea and Tree raffle among upcoming events at RSF Library

November is a special month for Coffee & Conversation, as the Rancho Santa Fe Library features a presentation from local Pala and Kumeyaay tribe members. And, start planning now to attend the popular and festive holiday tea, hosted by the Library Guild of Rancho Santa Fe.

Art Display by RSF Art Guild

Through Nov. 21The Rancho Santa Fe Art Guild hosts an art display called “The Holidays.” The exhibition will be in the Media Room at the Rancho Santa Fe Library, Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Coffee & Conversation: Fred Grand with Diana and Elijah Duro, Dupa Culture Bearers from the Pala Band of Mission Indians

Thursday, Nov. 20, 11 a.m.To celebrate Native American Heritage Month, this mother and son will share about their stories of the Pala Tribe with Fred Grand. He is a descendant of the Osuna family and will also share the rich native history of the Kumeyaay.

Painted Holiday Glassware

Saturday, Dec. 6, 10:30 a.m.Carol Murphy will help you sip your way through the season, with special holiday-themed painted glassware. All supplies are provided but space is limited. Sign up by calling 858-756-2512 or register at the branch.

Library Guild of Rancho Santa Fe Annual Holiday Tea

Friday, Dec. 12, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.Join us for the festive annual Holiday Tea and Tree Raffle filled with seasonal cheer! At 1 p.m. enjoy the enchanting sounds of holiday music with Adrienne Nims. That will be followed by an afternoon of crafts, tasty snacks, glitter tattoos, and magical moments with Carmen the Elf from 2 to 4 p.m. Don’t miss the chance to win a beautifully decorated tree and make cherished holiday memories with family and friends. The raffle is a fundraiser for the Library Guild of Rancho Santa Fe.

Regular Weekly Activities

Chair Yoga

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:45 a.m.Join us for some gentle chair yoga with Silver Age Yoga. Space is limited to 25 and is on first-come first-served basis.

Meditation and Mindfulness

Wednesdays, 10 a.m.Discover simple, effective ways to reduce stress and bring balance and happiness into your life. This special program is limited to 20 participants.

American Flag Drop OffIf it’s time to retire your American Flag, please drop it off at the library. There is a drop box and your flag will be treated with respect.

Battery Drop Off at LibraryThe Rancho Santa Fe Library is a safe place to dispose of small batteries, including A, AA, AAA, C, lithium (with taped covered ends), cell phone and other small batteries. Do your part to stop pollution by bringing this toxic trash to the library. The drop-off program is in partnership with Universal Waste.

Seeds and SustainabilityThe Rancho Santa Fe Library is a seed library too! Come by to pick up two free seed varieties that you can take home and plant.

Fun for Children and Tweens

There will be no children’s programming Nov. 24 to 26 because of Thanksgiving.

Lego LabMondays, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.Build and play with Lego. All supplies provided.

Read with Liberty (Nov. 17 only)Monday, November 17, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.Come meet Liberty, the dog and read to her to build your reading skills.

Preschool StorytimeTuesdays, 10:30 to 11 a.m.Join us for stories, songs, and crafts designed for children ages 3–6.

STEAM ExplorersTuesdays, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.Each week brings a new challenge blending science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

Toddler StorytimeWednesdays, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.Stories, songs, and crafts for toddlers ages 18 months to 3 years.

The Library and Book Cellar will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11, for Veteran’s Day, and Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27 and 28, for Thanksgiving.
