Man and woman found dead in Chula Vista apartment

A man and a woman in their 20s were found dead in their Chula Vista apartment early Tuesday morning after a neighbor called to report hearing a family disturbance followed by a gunshot, police said.

The neighbor called 911 just after 2:20 a.m. to report the disturbance in Kingwood Manor Apartments, a few blocks from Castle Park High School, Sgt. Anthony Molina said in a news release.

Officers arrived and entered the apartment, where they discovered the man and the woman both dead from apparent gunshot wounds, Molina said.

Police also found a gun. There was “no indication of any outstanding suspects,” the sergeant said.

Other residents of the apartment were home, and “they remain cooperative with the investigation.”

The names of the two people who died were not immediately released, and police declined to release further information about the incident, citing the ongoing investigation.
