Man dies after being ejected from motorcycle, hit by cars on I-805
A man riding a motorcycle on Interstate 805 in San Diego died early Thursday after he was ejected from his bike onto the highway and struck by several vehicles, the California Highway Patrol said.
Robinson Jose Guarderas, 27, died before he could be taken to a hospital, according to the medical examiner. The crash occurred shortly after midnight on southbound I-805 north of El Cajon Boulevard, the CHP said.
“For reasons still under investigation, the rider was ejected, landing within the traffic lanes,” the CHP said. Multiple vehicles struck the man and his motorcycle.
The county Medical Examiner’s Office is running toxicology tests. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the CHP, and the agency asked witnesses to the crash to contact them at 619-293-6000.
The Medical Examiner’s Office did not list a city of residence for Guarderas.
