San Diego police are investigating a collision in the Midway District in which a 33-year-old pedestrian was killed.

Officers responded at 11:11 p.m. Nov. 14 to Hancock Street and Camino del Rio West, where they learned the man had run east across the intersection and was struck by a BMW being driven by a 55-year-old woman north on Camino del Rio West. The woman was approaching a green traffic light, and the pedestrian ran into the street against the red “Don’t walk” signal, according to police Officer David O’Brien.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Alcohol was determined not to be a factor for the driver, police said.

The Police Department’s Traffic Division is in charge of the investigation. Anyone with information about the crash can call 858-495-7800 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
