Man found dead after early morning disturbance in Imperial Beach
Sheriff’s deputies responded to an early morning disturbance call Saturday in Imperial Beach and discovered a man with traumatic injuries, who died despite lifesaving efforts.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s Imperial Beach Substation were called to the area near 7th Street and Calla Avenue around 1:25 a.m. early Saturday morning. When they arrived, they found an unresponsive man and began CPR.
Paramedics arrived and also provided emergency care, but the man died at the scene, officials said.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name, pending confirmation and notification of next of kin. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit are investigating the motive and circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
Officials said they believe the incident was isolated and there is no threat to the public.
