Motorcyclist, 20, gravely injured in La Jolla crash
A 20-year-old motorcyclist is not expected to survive after she was thrown from the vehicle when it crashed on a La Jolla thoroughfare early Friday morning, San Diego police said.
The woman was riding a Honda CBR500R as she headed east on Torrey Pines Road, about 3:10 a.m., police Officer David O’Brien said.
The motorcycle collided with the center median about a half-mile east of Prospect Place, he said. O’Brien said she was thrown from the bike and sustained life-threatening injuries.
The rider was taken to a hospital but is not expected to survive her injuries, the officer said.
