NCTD unveils new logo as part of 50th anniversary commemoration
North County Transit District released a new logo Sept. 30 at the Oceanside Transit Center as part of its 50th anniversary celebration.
“As we celebrate 50 years of NCTD, we also set our intention for the next 50,” CEO Shawn M. Donaghy said in a statement. “NCTD remains committed to providing a world-class transportation network for our customers, and we could not achieve this goal without the work of our amazing employees – and our strong partnerships at all levels of government.”
As part of the commemoration, NCTD held customer appreciation pop ups on Sept. 23 in the Oceanside and Vista transit centers, Sept. 24 in the Carlsbad and Sorrento Valley Coaster stations, and Sept. 25 in the Palomar College Sprinter station and Escondido transit center.
The agency dates back to 1975, when it was created by a California State Senate bill.
“As we enter a new era at NCTD, we will continue to enhance our existing services while pursuing strategic initiatives to benefit our riders and the communities we serve,” NCTD Board Chair Priya Bhat-Patel said in a statement. “We also recently unveiled a new logo, renewing our presence in the community.”
