National City police investigating after body found under freeway overpass
Homicide detectives are investigating after the body of a man was found under a freeway overpass in National City early Saturday.
Someone called police shortly before 6 a.m. to report seeing an unresponsive man on a sidewalk on West Eighth Street under the Interstate 5 overpass. When officers arrived, they determined the man had died.
The victim suffered a wound to his chest, said police Detective Sgt. Mark Segal. No additional details about the nature of his wound were released.
No suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing, Segal said.
