Padres minors: Yonathan Perlaza still piling up RBIs for El Paso

Yonathan Perlaza is closing in on a 100-RBI season.

He homered and drove in three more runs on four hits in Triple-A El Paso’s 13-10 loss to visiting Tacoma.

The home run was his 17th of the year and the source of all three RBIs, pushing his total to a career-high 93. He also doubled while pushing his OPS to .921.

Catcher Rodolfo Duran (.835 OPS) hit his 12th homer and first baseman Tim Locastro (.759 OPS) hit his sixth homer.

Left-hander Miguel Cienfuegos (5.55 ERA) allowed five runs in 3⅓ innings in the start.

Left-hander Omar Cruz (4.71 ERA) allowed four runs in 1⅓ innings.

Right-hander Sean Reynolds (3.57 ERA) allowed a run in two innings and right-hander Raul Brito (6-3, 6.23 ERA) allowed three runs in the 10th inning.

El Paso is 69-57.

DOUBLE-A SAN ANTONIO (58-63)

Frisco 3, Missions 2: RHP Miguel Mendez (7.88 ERA) walked three and allowed two runs in 1⅔ innings in the start. LHP Ryan Och (3.91 ERA) and RHP Adam Moore (3.82 ERA) both threw 2⅔ scoreless innings. DH Marcos Castañon (.739 OPS) drove in two runs on two hits.

 

HIGH SINGLE-A FORT WAYNE (55-65)

Dayton 7, TinCaps 2: RHP Ian Koenig (5.03 ERA) struck out six and allowed two runs in five innings. SS Eguy Rosario (.301 OPS) went 1-for-4 with a double in his fifth game back from sports hernia surgery. LF Kasen Wells (.681 OPS) went 2-for-4.

 

LOW SINGLE-A LAKE ELSINORE (53-68)

Storm 6, Rancho Cucamonga 5 (10): DH Dylan Grego (.602 OPS) drove in two runs on two hits, including a triple. CF Ryan Wideman (.592 OPS) and SS Jorge Quintana (.572 OPS) both had two hits. Quintana also doubled, walked twice and scored three runs.

The DSL Padres Gold won Monday’s semifinal game and has advanced to the championship series. Game 1 is Thursday.
