Pearl Harbor is remembered with wreaths and flags at Liberty Station’s 52 Boats Memorial
The Point Loma Association helped commemorate National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day with a wreath-laying and flag placement event at the 52 Boats Memorial in NTC Park at Liberty Station in Point Loma.
The memorial is a series of monuments at the park dedicated to those who served on U.S. submarines in World War II. Each of the 52 markers represents a sunken submarine.
The memorial, dedicated in March 2010, was originally a project of the San Diego chapter of U.S. Submarine Veterans of World War II and is maintained largely through the efforts of the 52 Boats Memorial Veterans organization.
