Pedestrian killed in Morena crash identified
Authorities have publicly identified a pedestrian who lost his life last week to a predawn crash in the Morena neighborhood.
Eric Woodson Jr., 33, was struck by a northbound 2024 Honda Civic about 4 a.m. Thursday when he walked onto Pacific Highway, just north of Friars Road, the Medical Examiner’s Office reported.
Following the impact, the vehicle swerved to the roadside and crashed into a parked car, police said.
Paramedics took Woodson to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, according to the agency. No community of residence was provided for the victim.
No other injuries were reported. Investigators determined that intoxicated driving was not a factor in the crash, police said.
