Pedestrian reportedly walking in roadway killed in crash in Morena
A 35-year-old man was struck and killed while walking in the road in San Diego’s Morena neighborhood early Thursday, San Diego police said.
The crash happened at 4:30 a.m. on Pacific Highway just north of Friars Road. A woman driving a Honda Civic northbound spotted the pedestrian walking in the traffic lane and swerved to the right to avoid him but could not, police said. She struck the man and also a Toyota Prius parked on the shoulder, police said.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he died. His name was not released.
Neither drugs nor alcohol was determined to be a factor in the crash, police said.
