Petty retaliation shows Urban Corps has lost its way
Re “Urban Corps’ retired founder reported officials’ misuse of staff. Then his name was scrubbed from its headquarters.” (Aug. 22): It is a sad state of affairs that the Urban Corps decided to remove the name of founder Sam Duran from the front of the main office after he reported the then-executive director for putting the nonprofit’s staff to work on his own property. Duran retired after serving as the organization’s longtime chief executive director. I agree with Sam that the Urban Corps should have more important issues to manage than retaliating against him for pointing out an obvious lapse in management and nonprofit governance.
