San Diego police have identified a couple who died in a suspected murder-suicide last Saturday in Oak Park.

Michelle Booker-Stewart, 51, and her husband, Nathaniel Stewart, 57, were found inside their home on Timothy Drive near 55th Street shortly before 9:50 a.m. Saturday after someone called police to report a domestic-violence related shooting.

“Southeastern Division officers responded and found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper torso,” homicide Lt. Arturo Swadener said. “As they rendered aid to her, additional officers found a male in a separate room suffering from a gunshot wound to his head. He was deceased.”

Poice and paramedics tried to revive Booker-Stewart but she died before she could be taken to a hospital.

Anyone with information was urged to contact detectives at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
