Police investigate fatal shooting in Linda Vista park
San Diego police homicide detectives are investigating after a man was shot and killed in Linda Vista early Monday.
Someone called 911 to report hearing gunshots at the Linda Vista Recreation Center on Levant Street around 12:45 a.m. Officers found a man, described as being in his 30s, lying in the park with a gunshot wound, police said.
They provided emergency medical care until paramedics arrived. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he could not be revived.
Police said the shooter approached the victim in the park and shot him. The motive for the shooting was not known, police said. No one has been arrested.
