Preview: Fresh off landmark win, USD heads to Montana State

History: Montana State leads the all-time series, 4-0. The teams last met in 2021, with the Bobcats winning 52-10 in Bozeman.

Toreros notes: USD is coming off a thrilling 30-27 overtime win against then-No. 24 Southern Utah. USC transfer Matt Colombo rushed for 202 yards on 34 carries in the victory and scored the game-winning touchdown. Colombo was named the Pioneer Football League’s Offensive Player of the Week.

Bobcats notes: Montana State opened the season with a 59-13 loss at fourth-ranked Oregon then a 30-24 double overtime loss to South Dakota State, the second-ranked team in Division I FCS. It’s the first time since 2017 that the Bobcats have been winless going into Week 3. Quarterback Justin Lamson, a Stanford transfer, has passed for 321 yards without a touchdown or interception. He has rushed for 95 yards and scored one TD.
