Last time out: USD dropped a 71-68 decision to Idaho State last Friday night at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. Juanse Gorosito played 37 minutes and led the Toreros with 15 points, five rebounds and five assists. Toneari Lane and Adrian McIntyre each scored 11 points off the bench. USD outscored Idaho State 22-9 over the final four minutes.
Series history: The all-time series is tied 1-1, with USD winning 68-61 last season in San Diego.
Vandals notes: Idaho opened the season with an 83-81 win at Washington State before routing Whitman 94-49. It will be a homecoming for two Idaho players from San Diego County. Junior guard Kristian Gonzalez, who scored 18 points against Washington State, played at Mater Dei Catholic High School, while senior guard Isaiah Brickner, who scored 13 against Whitman, is a product of St. Augustine High School.
Toreros notes: USD scoring is paced by three transfers after two games. Lane, a graduate transfer from Georgia State, has scored 26 points. Gorosito, a senior transfer from Ball State, has 25 points in the two games. Tim Moore Jr., a grad transfer from New Jersey Tech, has 21.
