Quick help given to stricken pickleball player was heartwarming
Far too often, we all see stories about people not helping out in an emergency situation, so I wanted to share a more positive story. Last Saturday, I was playing pickleball at the Del Cerro Tennis Club when one of the players in my foursome collapsed on the court and briefly went unconscious. There must have been a dozen people from the surrounding courts who came over to assist in calling 911, getting my friend cooled down and comfortable, and getting him moved to the shade before paramedics arrived. I felt a real community spirit in the assistance and was very proud of my fellow pickleball players who took time out from their play on a beautiful Saturday morning to provide what may have been life-saving assistance. Thanks so much to all for helping out.
