UPCOMING CLASSES

Healthy Longevity Class

Monday (weekly) from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. No class on Sept. 22. Join Dr. Abraham Kim from Synaptic Integrated Medicine to explore health longevity practices incorporating qi gong, acupressure, and tai chi movements. This class will focus on techniques to enhance balance, coordination, energy, and support long-term neurological health and resilience.

Dr. Abraham will share insights from his expertise in integrated medicine in neurology and longevity practices, offering valuable tips on preventing aging health conditions and optimizing overall well-being. There is a $10 fee per class paid to the instructor.

Downloading eBooks

Thursday, Sept. 11, from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.  Explore digital resources with Rancho Santa Fe Library Librarian Melissa Zimmerman. Learn how to download eBooks, eAudiobooks, and online databases through the San Diego County Library online catalog, Bibliocommons. Plus, apply for a library card at the event. This class is held at the Rancho Santa Fe Senior Center.

Movement is Medicine Dance Workshop with Dr. Halbeisen, D.O.

Friday, Sept. 12 and 26, from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Join this joyful, physician-led workshop that blends dance, wellness, and self-expression. Designed for all levels, it’s a powerful way to reduce stress, lift your mood, and reconnect with your body.

Led by Dr. Anna Halbeisen, a triple board-certified physician in emergency medicine, sports medicine, and neuromusculoskeletal medicine, and a lifelong fitness enthusiast. If you are not an existing patient of Dr. Halbeisen, you must schedule a 15-minute virtual new patient visit (to establish care and bill your insurance directly). Line Dancing with Heather Leon

Tuesday, Sept.16, from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. In this fun, 60-minute class, you will learn basic line dance steps and choreography. Beginner line dances include Cupid Shuffle, Electric Slide, and Power Jam.

Heather has over four decades of dance experience across many disciplines including jazz, ballet, modern, ballroom, country partner, and line dancing with a B.A. in modern dance choreography from UCLA. She is also a Pilates Master with 30 years’ experience. There is a $20 fee per class paid to the instructor.

Paint with Alex

Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Join us in the studio with working artist and educator Alex Schaefer. Learn advanced techniques to further your painting skills. Bring your own artwork and supplies (acrylic, oil, or watercolor) to work with Alex and fellow artists. There is a $20 fee per class paid to the instructor.

3-Part Series Gut Feelings: Brain, Gut, Diet, Microbiome Connection with Dr. Joe Weiss

Friday, Sept. 12 (Part 2), and Oct. 10 (Part 3), from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Join Joseph Weiss, MD, for a fascinating three-part series on the vital connection between the brain, gut, diet, microbiome, and genome. With decades of experience, Dr. Weiss shares practical strategies to support health and longevity in a fun, clear, and engaging way. Book Club with the Rancho Santa Fe Librarians

Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.Join us for a lively discussion at the Senior Center of “The Lost Man” by Jane Harper. Brothers Nathan and Bub Bright meet for the first time in months at the remote fence line separating their cattle ranches in the lonely outback. Their third brother, Cameron, lies dead at their feet. Open Art with Merci Jensen

Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Join local artist Merci Jensen for a monthly open art space for all levels. A skilled painter and drawer, Merci brings years of experience and a passion for oil painting, color, and composition. Enjoy a relaxed, supportive space to create, connect, and grow artistically. Bring your own materials and join the fun!

Flu Shot Clinic

Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. It’s that time again! Flu, COVID-19, RSV, shingles, pneumonia, tetanus, and hepatitis vaccines are available. Injections will be administered by an Albertsons, Vons, and Pavilions pharmacist. Please bring your Medicare or other insurance card with you. Registration for a 15-minute time slot is required.

Medicare 2026

Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Liz Schulte, president of Schulte Insurance, along with Ben Losin, Certified Medicare Agent, will be talking about new Medicare information and changes in 2026. Bring your questions!

UCSD is seeking participants for The Women’s Memory Study. You must be female, age 65 or older, and no formal diagnosis of dementia. Results from this study could help develop specialized therapies for both men and women at risk for Alzheimer’s. With study completion, participants will receive a $300 Visa Gift Card.
