The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary of San Diego County met at the La Jolla Country Club on Nov. 5 for the announcement of the honorees for its 60th-anniversary Women of Dedication event coming up next year.

Rancho Santa Fe residents Heather Manion and Cami Rosso will be among the 12 Women of Dedication honorees at the luncheon on Friday, May 15, at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina hotel. The honorees have been chosen for their exemplary volunteer work and their decades of service to the community, according to a news release.

Rancho Santa Fe residents Susan and Bill Hoehn will receive the Peggy Matthews Legacy Award at the event for their decades of service and dedication to the mission of The Salvation Army and many other organizations, the news release stated.

“It’s with the utmost pleasure that the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary has the opportunity to recognize these 12 accomplished women.” said Ferol Henkels, auxiliary president, in the news release. “We can celebrate the significant and diverse impact each of them has made here in San Diego and highlight their commitment and compassion to making our community a better place.”

Proceeds from the May 15 event will fund local Salvation Army programs that serve families and individuals experiencing homelessness, those suffering from chemical addiction, food pantries at the auxiliary’s Community Corps Centers and senior nutrition sites across the county. The event theme is Gems of Generosity. For more information, visit www.sdsawa.salvationarmy.org.
