Rancho Santa Fe sisters take center stage at 2025 World Breeders’ Cup Championship

by News Release

Two Roger Rowe students took center stage on Friday, Oct. 31, at the 2025 World Breeders’ Cup Championship in Del Mar, proudly presenting both the American flag and the Breeders’ Cup flag before a roaring crowd of 30,000 fans, according to a news release.

Sisters Charlize and Savannah Jass wowed spectators as they rode horseback across the back stretch of the famed racetrack, representing local equine athletes on an international stage. The talented duo now sets their sights on the Junior World Finals in barrel racing this December, marking their fourth consecutive year competing among the best in the world.

Charlize recently placed 13th at last year’s world finals and, together, the sisters train and compete under San Pasqual Valley Ranch (SPVR), coached by Mindy Devenport. Their dedicated teammates include Rancho Santa Fe residents Faith Marshall, Parker Gleeson, Samara Cummins, Oliva Markey and Vaunne Henderson, the news release stated.
