Scholarships and grant opportunities available locally

by Julie Gallant

A variety of scholarships and grants are available to help students and parents facing financial barriers when applying for colleges and other training programs.

Following is a list of scholarships and grants available this year and on an ongoing basis. The resources are made available by county Supervisor Joel Anderson’s office of District 2.

The father of three children, who went through this process, said he understands the value of scholarship opportunities and the importance of financial aid.

“My team has worked carefully to source a diverse set of opportunities that may be useful and relevant,” Anderson wrote in a Sept. 19 email announcing the scholarships and grants. “It’s important to note that many of these opportunities have upcoming deadlines, so I recommend being mindful as these dates approach.”
