Sidewalk project on D Street in Ramona nearly complete

by Regina Elling

More than 400 feet of sidewalk on D Street in Ramona is expected to be completed within the next two weeks, county officials said.

The work, which started in July, was done on the north side of D Street, from west of 10th Street to 11th Street.

The work includes new curb and gutter for the sidewalk, as well as an ADA ramp, concrete driveways, removal and replacement of wood and chain link fencing, minor asphalt work and striping, according to Donna Durckel, communications officer for the County of San Diego Land Use and Environment Group.

“Safe sidewalks are an important part of any community,” County Supervisor Joel Anderson said. “I am grateful for the County’s Department of Public Works staff who have ensured this Capital Improvement project is completed for Ramona.”

The project, funded by a Community Development Block Grant and the General Fund, cost $747,983, Durckel said.
