Solana Beach Community Connections expands volunteer opportunities to serve growing senior community
Solana Beach Community Connections (SBCC), a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to helping seniors age safely and thrive in their own homes, is seeking new volunteers to expand its programs and strengthen community support.
With Solana Beach home to a large and growing senior population, SBCC provides resources, activities, and companionship to reduce isolation and improve quality of life. Programs include book clubs, monthly game days, educational workshops on topics like emergency preparedness and Medicare changes, and seasonal outreach such as holiday basket deliveries for isolated seniors, according to a news release.
To sustain and grow these offerings, SBCC welcomes volunteers in a variety of roles:•Community-building: greeters, book club leaders, and activity helpers;•Behind-the-scenes support: communications, publicity, social media, and fundraising;•Program design and planning: shaping future activities and outreach initiatives
“SBCC’s success depends on volunteers who give their time and talents to create meaningful experiences for seniors. From one-time event help to ongoing leadership, every contribution makes a difference,” stated SBCC President Peter Gourevitch in the news release.
Flexible scheduling allows community members of all ages to participate, and no prior experience is required.
