Solana Beach School District seeks applicants for opening on Measure JJ Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee

The Solana Beach School District (SBSD) has opened the application for volunteers to serve on the District’s Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee (ICOC), according to a news release.

The ICOC ensures bond proceeds are specifically and exclusively used to support school construction projects as authorized by Measure JJ, which was passed by local voters in November 2016.

Committee members serve two-year terms and provide oversight of the district’s $105 million school bond construction program.

The district seeks one representative for the following position:•One member shall be active in a bona fide taxpayers’ organization.

Community members interested in applying to serve on SBSD’s ICOC can find more information and access the application at www.sbsd.net/ICOC. Applications are due by Sept. 1, 2025, and candidates will be interviewed during the week of Sept. 8, 2025.

The SBSD Board of Education will consider ICOC member appointments at the regularly scheduled board meeting on Oct. 9, 2025.
