Spirit of Liberty Foundation’s America’s Freedom Bell was the centerpiece at the POW/MIA Remembrance Day Ceremony

by News Release

This nation honors its Armed Forces on two major holidays each year: Memorial Day and Veterans Day. However, a day which is equally important yet often overlooked is National POW/MIA Recognition Day, which was established by Congress in 1979.

This important day pays tribute not only to the country’s prisoners of war but also to the over 81,000 brave service members who fought for America’s freedom and remain missing in action, and, importantly, to honor and recognize the soldiers who have been identified by DNA and brought home to their families, a news release stated.

In collaboration with Kelly McKeague, director, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency at the Pentagon, the Spirit of Liberty Foundation’s iconic America’s Freedom Bell was once again the centerpiece to commemorate this important day and provide these heroes with the recognition they deserve at the POW/MIA Remembrance Day Ceremony held at the Punchbowl Military Cemetery in Honolulu, Hawaii.
