The Rancho Santa Fe Tea3 Foundation held its Masquerade Murder Mystery Gala Dec. 3 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla. The event raised funds to support Dr. Rick Friedman’s Targeted Grant funding Curebound’s Childhood Cancers Research Pillar, according to a news release.
“We were all inspired by Curebound’s continuing progress in finding cures for cancer in our lifetime”, said Sandra Den Ujil, Tea3 Foundation founder and board president, in the news release. “Specifically, the outcome of this research effort will meaningfully impact the quality of life of children who battle cancer.”
“Research and drug development in childhood cancers remain severely underfunded, making private philanthropy essential to progress,” said Dr. Ezra Cohen, chief science advisor at Curebound, in the news release. “We are deeply grateful to the Tea3 Foundation for their partnership and leadership in advancing childhood cancer research. Together, we can accelerate critical discoveries so that no child has to die from cancer—or live with lifelong consequences of treatment.”
