Hike: Join docent Celeste Larson on a post-Thanksgiving Day hike to Ramona Dam. The event begins at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28 and will conclude around 11 a.m. The moderately strenuous hike is about 5 miles round trip, with an 800-plus feet elevation gain. No registration required. Nature activity: Teens (ages 12-17) are welcome to make a seed ball that can be planted at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2 Teen DIY: Seed Ball Workshop in the Rancho Bernardo Library, 17110 Bernardo Center Drive. Take the mic: The 4S Ranch Library will hold an Open Mic Night for adults from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2 in the library’s community room, 10433 Reserve Drive. Share your flash fiction, life stories, essays, poetry, songs, comedy and more. The event is free and only open to adults due to subject matter. Poway turns 45: There will be a celebration from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2 to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Poway becoming an incorporated city. The free celebration will be held at Poway City Hall, 13325 Civic Center Drive. There will be dessert, fire trucks, Sheriff’s vehicles and more.

Holiday event: The Rancho Bernardo Library will present a Holiday Music Show featuring Hooray Miss Marae at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3. Those of all ages can join Miss Marae and her playful puppet friends on a silly holiday adventure filled with music, laughter and surprises. This is a joyful, non-religious celebration of the season. Tree lighting: The Rancho Bernardo Christmas tree and menorah lighting event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3 at Lucia Capital Group, 16789 Bernardo Center Drive in RB. The free family event will include kids crafts, live music, a photo booth, food trucks, dance performances, cookies, hot chocolate and visits with Santa. For women: The Rhapsody Singers will perform holiday songs during the Thursday, Dec. 4 Rancho Bernardo Woman’s Club luncheon. It will be at Maderas Golf Club, 17750 Old Coach Road in Poway. Craft fair: The annual Seven Oaks Holiday Craft Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Seven Oaks Community Center, 16789 Bernardo Oaks Drive in Rancho Bernardo. It will feature 70-plus local artists and artisans offering a wide range of handicrafts, fine art, jewelry, potted plants, baked goods and more. Families are welcome, but no pets. Admission is free. Toy drive: The Poway Cruisers will host their third annual Holiday Toy Drive Car Show from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at the In-N-Out parking lot, 12890 Gregg Court in Poway.
