Annual Greek Festival back in Cardiff for 45th year, expected to draw crowds

Spooktacular: Halloween festivities are starting this weekend at SeaWorld as Spooktacular returns with family-fun activities. The park will host Halloween-themed interactive story times, live music, actors in Halloween costumes, a pumpkin patch, a trick-or-treat trail and thrill rides. There will also be a Dia de los Muertos celebration with live performances, music, food and altars to honor loved ones on Nov. 1 and 2. Spooktacular takes place Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 2. Plus, after sunset, the park will turn into a haunted trail with SeaWorld’s Howl-O-Scream activation on selected Thursdays through Sundays through Nov. 2. seaworld.com/san-diego

Oceanside Plein Air Festival kicks off Saturday: The Oceanside Museum of Art hosts its biennial plein air painting fest  Saturday through Sept. 13. About 250 artists will arrive from around the country to take part in open-air painting sessions, hands-on workshops, networking, quick paint challenges, easel sales, an outdoor art sale on Sept. 13 and an awards competition. Sunset Cliffs Auto Show: Car enthusiasts rejoice, the Sunset Cliffs Auto Show is driving into Ocean Beach.
