Veterans Day Ceremony 2025 to be held in Solana Beach

The City of Solana Beach and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5431 will host the annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at La Colonia Park, 715 Valley Ave in Solana Beach.The ceremony will be held from 11 a.m. until noon. Highlights of the celebration include The Camp Pendleton Young Marines as Color Guard, “Feathers from Heaven” Doves, the Santa Fe Christian School Band, and a special guest speaker who will address the community. City dignitaries and representatives from all branches of the Armed Forces will also be present. The Country Friends to hold ‘Winter Wonderland’ holiday tea

The Country Friends nonprofit organization will hold its annual holiday tea “Winter Wonderland” on Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club.The event will include a luncheon, informal modeling, holiday boutique shopping, opportunity drawing prizes, and more. Del Mar Seacoast Republican Women’s November luncheon to feature guest speaker

All are invited to join Del Mar Seacoast Republican Women for its November luncheon on Wednesday, Nov. 19, featuring guest speaker retired U.S. Border Patrol agent Christopher Harris. Batiquitos  Lagoon nature walk

Batiquitos Lagoon will hold a docent-led nature walk on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. titled “The Seasonal Migration.” This free 90-minute, easy walk will focus on welcoming the arrival of the many bird species that migrate from the north for the winter. Jill G. Hall author event

‘Eisenhower: This Piece of Ground’

Tony Award-winning actor John Rubinstein — he was Broadway’s Pippin in 1980 — will reprise the title role in this solo play by Richard Hellesen that premiered off Broadway in 2023 and has been touring ever since. New York critics described Rubinstein as “compelling” and “affable” as former U.S. president and retired Army Gen. Dwight D. SB Historical Society holds Holiday Boutique

The Solana Beach Civic and Historical Society will hold its 72nd Holiday Boutique from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 8 at the La Colonia Park Community Center, 715 Valley Ave., benefiting student scholarships and other civic programs. The boutique will include handmade gift items, ranging from quilts, holiday items and toys to home décor. There will be a mini silent auction with themed gift baskets and tables of sweet and savory baked goods along with coffee. Salute to Paws 5K and festival

Shelter to Soldier will put on its 2nd annual Salute to Paws 5K and Gratitude Festival for Dogs Nov. 9 at Fox Point Farms,1200 Fox Point Farms Lanes. The event raises money for Shelter to Soldier to rescue dogs from local shelters and train them to become service animals for post-9/11 veterans suffering from PTSD and other related injuries. Registration opens at 8 a.m., followed by an all-levels yoga flow at 8:30 a.m. and 5K kickoff at 9:30 a.m. and then a Gratitude Festival for Dogs with live music, food, drinks and pet-focused vendors and activities. 33rd Annual The Red Nose Run

The Del Mar Foundation will be the “Rudolph” sponsor in 2025 for the 33rd Annual The Red Nose Run (TRNR) 5K Run/Walk on the beach on Saturday, Dec 13. Non-profit beneficiaries continue to be Semper Fi/America’s Fund and San Dieguito River Park. It’s the only sanctioned holiday run/walk on the beach in San Diego, and open for registrations. The Red Nose Run is a family- and dog-friendly event (on leash), according to a news release. This year awards will be given to the fastest runners, best individual/group costumes, best dog costume, and others.

The post-finish line celebration is a showcase of Del Mar’s finest and will include a hot buffet provided by Poseidon Restaurant, artisanal ice cream from Saffron & Rose, and craft beer from Viewpoint Brewing Co. World Food Expo

A World Food Expo will be from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Junior League of San Diego headquarters, 210 Maple St., hosted by the League’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Council. Windansea surf club holds contest

Top amateur and former professional surfers are slated to compete in the Windansea Invitational surf contest at La Jolla Shores Nov. 8-9. The event is part of the Coalition of Surfing Clubs competition series involving clubs from California, Hawaii, and Baja. Historic Downtown Encinitas Walking Tour

The Encinitas Historical Society offers a fun educational walking tour of downtown Encinitas on the third Saturday of every month. the tours begin at 10 a.m., starting at the 1883 One-Room Schoolhouse, located at 390 West F Street. There is plenty of free parking available. On Nov. 15, the tour will cover the south end of the Coast Highway.The Encinitas Historical Society has implemented a suggested donation of $10 per person.
