Woman arrested on suspicion of spray painting Santee post office
Sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman early Sunday suspected of spray painting a section of the U.S. Post Office in Santee hours earlier, authorities said.
Deputies responded to a report that someone was vandalizing the building on Mission Gorge Road near Town Center Parkway around 8 p.m. When they arrived, they saw that someone had sprayed black paint near the front doors, defacing an area of about five by 10 square feet.
Sheriff’s officials did not describe the graffiti.
Hours later, a 52-year-old woman was found in the Mission Gorge area who had black spray cans and paint on her clothing and body, officials said.
The woman was arrested by deputies and booked into Las Colinas jail on suspicion of felony vandalism. She was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail, according to jail records.
