Woman pushing shopping cart in street killed in hit and run in Bay Park
A woman pushing a shopping cart up Morena Boulevard was struck and killed by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash in the Bay Park neighborhood early Friday, San Diego police said.
The victim, 50, was struck about 4:20 a.m. as she was walking in a northbound lane of traffic near McGraw Street, police said. The driver, who was also going north, drove away, police said.
Someone who saw the woman lying in the street called 911. The pedestrian was unconscious and died at a hospital. Her name was not released.
There is no description at this time of the suspected vehicle or driver, police said.
