Annual Bike the Coast event raises over $10,000 for Bike MS

by News Release

More than 1,500 riders took to Highway 101 on Nov. 1 for the annual Bike the Coast event, cycling throughout San Diego County’s beach cities. Participants of all ages and experience levels took part in the leisurely ride, choosing from five distance options including the 7 and 15-mile Family Rides, and 25, 50 and 100-mile routes highlighting multiple beach communities.

This year, Bike the Coast continued its partnership with the National MS Society and Bike MS, organizations dedicated to supporting those affected by multiple sclerosis through research, advocacy and community programs. The 2025 Bike the Coast event raised over $10,000 for Bike MS, according to a news release.

Founded in 1946, the National MS Society has been a global leader in the movement to create a world free of MS. Proceeds from the post-ride beer garden, along with rider donations, were contributed to the cause, helping advance research and connect participants with the MS community.

Riders on the 25, 50 and 100-mile routes journeyed through several historic beach towns, including Oceanside, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach and Del Mar, taking in the coastal charm along the routes. Those on the 7 and 15-mile courses rode the San Luis Rey River Trail, a relaxed route that provided views of the area’s natural beauty.

“We are so happy to watch this ride grow every year and bring so much joy and fun to the community,” said Mike Bone, president and CEO of Spectrum Sports Management, producer of Bike the Coast, in the news release. “We love being able to highlight our beach towns and bring people together to celebrate fitness, community and everything that makes Southern California so special.”

Each year, Bike the Coast hosts a Finish Festival for not only participants to enjoy post-ride, but also family, friends and any other community members looking for a fun local event to enjoy. The annual festival takes place at the Oceanside Pier, with an emphasis on community vendors. This year’s Finish Festival featured local food and drinks, live music by Gone Blonde and a beer garden hosted by BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, with proceeds benefiting Bike MS.
