Día de los Muertos Festival held in Solana Beach
The annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) community event took place Oct. 19 at La Colonia Park in Solana Beach. Photos of veterans and their biographies were displayed at the center of the park and a color guard opened the event.
The event also included ballet folklórico dance, classic car show by Viejitos Car Club, musical performances by Mariachi Del Mar, Los Gringos Muertos Band and Smooth Groove, Mexican food, costume contests, a raffle, and more. The event also featured more than 40 ofrendas honoring family and friends who have died.
